any way heh since no one i meet this far seemed to know where Umber is and such
i am puting a few words
Umbar
A cape in the far south of Middle-earth, long held by Black Númenóreans, but conquered by Gondor for a time during the Third Age.
The name appears to contain the word mbar, 'home' or 'dwelling-place', an element seen fairly frequently in place names like 'Brithombar' or 'Dimbar'. The 'u-' prefix is hard to decipher, but it would normally form a negative, so perhaps 'Umbar' simply means 'not home' or 'away from home' (to the Númenóreans or Gondorians, that is). However, there is no definite support for this theory in Tolkien's works.
Corsairs of Umbar
The people of Umbar during the later Third Age, largely descended from Castamir the Usurper and his followers, who, though they were Gondorian in origin, continued a long enmity against the land of their ancestors.
The date of the Gondor's loss of Umbar is not recorded. All we know for sure, from Appendix A to The Lord of the Rings, is that '...in the evils that soon befell Gondor Umbar was again lost, and fell into the hands of the Men of Harad'. The 'evils that soon befell' were the waves of assault on Gondor, especially by the Wainriders, that started in III 1856.
The fact that Umbar 'fell into the hands' of the Haradrim seems to suggest that Gondor voluntarily withdrew its occupying force to meet the Wainrider threat, rather than losing it to military action. This is open to question, but what seems clear is that the Haradrim permitted, and indeed probably encouraged, the Corsairs to resume their raids on Gondor's coasts.
