I'm kind of at a loss as to what to do now. Having joined only for the latter end of the night, I was only privy to what *should* have been the closing moments... but no, as Kelli said, somehow a wounded and unarmed Elf pulled a miracle escape from under our noses, showed up to taunt us, and then got away, having dodged no less than 3 crossbow bolts from Em WHILE STATIONARY, with the only response given being a "glare."

*shakes head and sighs*

I took an arrow from the ridiculous assassin, and (personal highlight) was defended when the damn fool showed up to gloat AGAIN, by the gentleman we may all recall from our event... the one I beat in the sparring match, a gentleman called Waldur. *grins* This chappy, now level 50 and armed to the teeth, repeatedly tried to lure the assassin outside for a bit of sparring goodness, a godmoder's worst nightmare... and surprise surprise, he wasn't taken up on it.

Here's the deal, as far as I'm concerned. I don't mind conflict, I sure don't mind a bit of violence, I love a bit of intrigue. But when one of the primary antagonist's idea of RP is to stand silently in the street and occasionally emote killing blows while apparently regenerating at a rate to beat Wolverine, it loses all flavour for me.

Besides which, I have a very real concern that the Thorn's reputation as mature RP'ers could suffer by association. We're not "one trick ponies," but if every time we're in Bree we have a repeat of last night, it's a conclusion many bystanders will reach.

I love it when arcs include other kinships, but I'm sick and tired of this Draerex/Cataniel dreamteam of unbeatability. You're right, Lira... they just want to win, not play a story. Having said that, when I was chatting with Beo OOC about the whole thing and told him about the treaty I'd tentatively laid out, he told me that it would end with bloodshed, because it wasn't enough that it ended, it had to end the way HE wanted. (That was a quote, Beo, my friend. You know it.)

Something's gotta give, and I can't see that we can expect them to pack it in until those involved on our side do too.

Wulf got shot... but I can let that slide, IC and OOC, if it means and end to this. We obviously can't kill them, and their willingness to "take hits" is meaningless, since they apparently recover almost instantly.
I remain a part of the Thorn, and if our arcs continue with these two, I will participate, albeit minimally. But I urge you guys to think otherwise.
Personally I'm sick of the sight of them.

Having not been there myself, I can't comment directly on any of this. But I can tell you this much, Wulf: You always have a right to walk away from a godmodder, and nobody in the Thorn is going to think less of you for that. I'm impressed you even took it as far as you seem to have...I myself would have flipped them off and been out of there faster than a rat's fart.

We are here to tell stories, not to "win". And if the people that choose to associate with us can't understand that, well, then we have no business with them.

Sod them, I say. Play with them if you want, but reserve the right to toss them a /tell about how ridiculous they are if they attempt godmodding.

This is how it goes. The fugitives are caught and punished for their crimes. And if we see them around town. Then RP at caution. But remember we got some great evolution concerning our own characters. Just look at all those stories popping up!

wulf... you obviously missunderstood me, beodric would want it to end the way HE wants it, i was speaking of the ic point of view not ooc, obviously beodric would want it to end the way he wants it, or with heads hanged on his wall, oocly i dont mind how it ends as long as it is good, sure i would like it in someways and have my preffernces, but i am not stiff about it, any way i am for ending it as well, and if i get talked with from this pepole again i will tell them what i exactly told them i would.

Then I apologize, Beo, I misunderstood. Generally, though, when we talk about plot development in Kinship, it's assumed OOC.

Anyway, I have no problem with Valenia... particularly as I hear she's severing ties with these godmodders as well.
