Hm. Well. Hm... I think for those that needs a change of pace from LOTRO. Definently should give COH a chance. I for one is not giving up on LOTRO or any of the events planned by me or some of the brothers and sisters of the Thorn. The way I see it. I need inspiration from another source. So this is an invitation to you all. Come and join for some casual RP, exploration and fun. Below is a Thumps Up and Thumps Down as I view it.
Thumps Up:Modern environment giving you a good feeling of either being a Villain or Hero, Unique customization in character design, abilities. (Took me three hours to make the character just right heheh.) Good storylines, Team play vs solo play is balanced. Every mission you accept can be taken Solo or in group. (Some though are team related... Although they are few). Classes are well balanced and fun to play. No looting system. You get enhancements to your powers. Enhancements which you through recipes can create on your own to get that extra buff you need. Ergo AH is focused around enhancements, recipes and salvage which you in return can build your very own hive of Evil mongrels or a base for Super mongrels. You can have several different suits on your character as you lvl. Making that civilian clothes versus when you go Supermode. Many good emotes for RP.
You can fly, teleport, run faster than hell, jump or use a jump pack if you wish. And these are just some of the powers that you can learn. In short there are no boundaries for that special character you want to play/RP. And much, much more.
Thumps Down:There is definently lacking RP. Have yet to find someone who is rping other than the knight me and Adj met who had been thrown to the future by an evil mage. The community is lacking maturity. But to avoid these "Kids" just look at the many names like: Batttman, Superrrwoman, Ravennnnnnnn, Dooooooom etc... There is a naming policy though according to the community. So they dont last long Or get forced to change the name. Well heres me being naive...
The game appears somewhat old (2003) But that is only on the Hero side. The Villain sides cities, called the Rogue Isles, are much better in design. And darker of course. The Toons are a bit old mechanic wise. And so are the NPC's.
But here I am comparing with AOC and the new races in WOW. LOTRO is lacking in this regard as well. You definently get lonesome if you dont have someone to play with. (Adj) So company is somewhat a must sometimes... (Miss you guys

)
Well that is some of it. More to come later, when RL is not running wild...
