The Summer Solstice

Postby Felaion » Tue Jun 19, 2007 2:53 pm

From June 20th to July 10th, Middle-earth will be celebrating with its Summer Solstice Festival!

Each race knows it by a different name: Lithe Festival for the Hobbits, Summerdays for Men, Summerfest for Dwarves, or the Festival of Enedhin for the Elves. No matter who's enjoying it, the Summer Festival means dancing, drinking, games, and even fireworks!

I'm sure you've all noticed that 'Summerdays' is just round the corner. As the Festival itself lasts for 20 days, I though that perhaps it would be a good idea to set an event during this time, to be the Thorn's festival day. One day the entire Thorn have off training, off work, to simply celebrate the summer months, and bounty that they bring.
In the evening of that day, a party, hosted... well, wherever you want, and doing... whatever you want again! (The same setup as a normal event)

Just wondering how practical that sounds :) An event, purely for relaxing and partying.

Comments, opinions? Yes, No? (Just an Idea, no minding if nothing happens)

The Thorns relaxing would be a nice break. Since the days of DDO the Thorns have had severe problems with a sort of "Never A Normal Gathering"-syndrome. They have always exploded into chaos and death. A nice good feast to let them forget the threat of war for a moment would be good. :)

As I recall, we once had a song and a dance in Combe, and it was a good time! More of the same wouldn't go amiss... particularly on a grander scale!
Roll on, Summerdays! :-D

Sounds good to me. I'll bring a bag of apples to throw at people trying to start plots.

Wait ! You mean killing goblins and dourhand dwarfs is not partying ?

Anyways i am up for anything that does not involve pushups. And plan to spend some times in
Hobbiton during the festivities , especially near the party tree :D

Good Adj!

No! It does not Archi! :D

Seems the vote is for yes! Alright, I'll organise somthing.

First things first, what evening is good? Any day between 20th June and 10th July fits into the Festival Season, with the actual day of the Summer Solstice (Longest Day) being the 21st of June.

I know I'm not avalible from Firday 22nd to Sunday 24th at all.
