Several large, clearly (if irritatingly) written but worn posters reading thus are posted in various places around Hobbiton, Bree, and on the walls of the Forsaken Inn...


To all ADVENTURERS, TRADERS, TRAVELLERS, LAWKEEPERS, and OTHER INTERESTED PERSONS and PARTIES:

The GUILD of TRAVELLERS, or as it is more often known the TRAVELLERS' GUILD, is soon to be hosting a GRAND MEETING of all those who are interested to attend. This shall feature SHARING OF INFORMATION about the THREATS which currently face ERIADOR in this time, so that all may be better GUARDED and INFORMED about the troubles of the time and henceforth what ACTION is to be taken. REPRESENTATIVES from all KINSHIPS, GUILDS, and OTHER GROUPS are cordially invited to attend, as well as ANY OTHER INTERESTED PERSONS and PARTIES.

After this GRAND MEETING, there is to be MERRIMENT, for a whole evening cannot be taken up by foreboding and dark news. All TRADERS, MERCHANTS, COOKS and CRAFTSPEOPLE (as well as people of other productive or creative pursuits) are invited to ply their wares in the BAZAAR to be held after the meeting. ALL are welcome.

Sponsored by the TRAVELLERS' GUILD, there shall be a FIST-FIGHTING COMPETITION, for which the PRIZE shall be some personal WEAPONS and ARMOUR, or SILVER COIN as an alternative. As kindly suggested by the proprietors of the location, there shall also be a DRINKING CONTEST, of which CHALLENGES will feature that cannot be easily completed INEBRIATED, for which the PRIZE shall be a selection of fine hobbit foods and a pouch of SILVER COIN.

IN ADDITION, there shall be an AUCTION for an EVENING spent with the most LOVELY and BUTEOUS lady ELURA TALAHAN in a location of your choice, though no GUARANTEES are made of any activity therein, for this is up to your own wit and charm to OBTAIN SUCH FAVOUR with the lady. This auction is NOT OPEN to OTHER FEMALES to bid.

RUNNING ALONGSIDE this shall be an AUCTION for an EVENING spent with the most CHARMING and HANDSOME man BRAEDEN WILLOWBANK in a location of your choice. GUARANTEES are made of activity of your choice therein, for this man is a far more generous sort than the lady in this manner. This auction is NOT OPEN to OTHER MALES to bid.

The PROCEEDS from these AUCTIONS shall go to the COSTS of the earlier PRIZES.

This GRAND MEETING shall take place at NINE HOURS past NOON, NINE O'CLOCK, at the GREEN DRAGON INN in BYWATER, on THIS FRIDAY. I, and all others of the GUILD of TRAVELLERS, hope to see a large turnout to an evening of both seriousness and revelry.
